Jake Ferguson Starts The Season With A Tough Matchup In Week 1

Walk into the new season

As the 2023 NFL season approaches, all 32 teams are looking to start the year off on the right foot. For some teams, that means facing a tough opponent in Week 1. One player who will be facing a tough matchup in Week 1 is Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.

About Jake Ferguson

Ferguson is a second-year tight end out of the University of Wisconsin. He was drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Ferguson played in 15 games and started in two of them. He caught 21 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown.

In Week 1 of the 2023 season, the Cowboys will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are led by quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Mike Evans. Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The Buccaneers also have a strong defense, led by linebacker Devin White and cornerback Jamel Dean.

Ferguson will be tasked with blocking White and Dean, and he will also need to be a receiving threat for quarterback Dak Prescott. It will be a tough matchup for Ferguson, but it is one that he is looking forward to.

"I'm excited to go up against the Buccaneers," Ferguson said. "They're a great team with a lot of great players. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to it."
