An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 struck off the coast of Vancouver Island on Thursday morning, part of an ongoing earthquake swarm in the area.
Earthquakes Canada says the quake was recorded at 10:44 a.m. PT, with an epicenter about 130 kilometers southwest of Port Alberni.
The quake was felt as far away as Seattle, Washington, and Victoria, British Columbia.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
Officials are closely watching the situation and are urging residents to be prepared for aftershocks.
